Description: Learn the early signs of burnout and how to reverse it from a serial overachiever. Nonprofit staff are especially susceptible to workplace stress. Explore tips for building a positive workplace for yourself and how you can build a positive workplace for those you supervise.

Details:
The Fundraising Training Cohort will gather approximately 15 community-based nonprofits in the Pittsburgh region. A second cohort of 15-20 participants will be offered virtually for participants outside of the SW PA region. Both cohorts will include:
8 monthly trainings (once a month Sept-June, except for December)
9 one-on-one Executive Coaching sessions
This is a comprehensive training designed to equip participants with the knowledge to make strategic fundraising decisions. Participants will build their skill in all areas of fundraising through direct hands-on training and coaching.
Timeline:
April 10 – Applications are open
June 17 - Application deadline
June 30 – Participants are notified of acceptance
September 2026 – June 2027 – Monthly cohort sessions held on September 17, October 15, November 19, January 28 2027, February 18, March 18, April 15, May 20, and June 17.

Grant Writing Clinic
Date: May 13, 2026
Time: 9am-12pm
Location: Laurel Highlands Workforce & Opportunity Center, 310 Donohoe Rd. Greensburg, PA 15601
Fee: $60 per person
Description: Participants will receive hands-on practical grant writing training. Each participant is asked to bring a grant proposal they are currently working on or will be working on. Through a mix of class instruction, group exercises, and personal writing, participants will apply what they are learning to actual proposals.
Topics will include:
Identifying the right funding opportunity
Using data to demonstrate impact and need
Understanding the hidden questions in a proposal
Creating compelling project goals
Matching budget to narrative
Participants are asked to bring (on paper or on their laptop):
Copy of the proposal questions
Current draft or content from previous grants that you may re-use for the current proposal. If you have never written a grant proposal, you will be assigned a task to complete before the clinic to prepare you for the clinic.
